$1,000usually paid per prescription to the assistant who filed them under a doctor's name

In an Arkansas TRICARE case, prosecutors said no one ever consulted a prescriber: a medical assistant was paid usually $1,000 per prescription to file them under her doctor's name.

The scheme generated over $10 million in compound drug prescriptions for over 100 TRICARE beneficiaries in a year. The organizer, Brad Duke, was sentenced to 36 months in May 2022.
