2,400fake-diploma buyers who passed the nursing licensing exam anyway
About 2,400 of the roughly 7,600 people who bought a fraudulent nursing diploma in the federal "Operation Nightingale" case went on to pass the licensing exam and take jobs as nurses.
Officials said they had not confirmed specific patient harm from these nurses, but patients and employers had no way to know the training behind the diploma was fake, since it came from a real, state-licensed school's own paperwork.
