By October 2026, the HHS Inspector General's own enforcement log counted 192 separate COVID-19-related fraud actions, six years after the first lockdowns.
Many of the most recent entries involve exactly the free-COVID-test-to-unrelated-billing pattern described on this site: a nursing home respiratory panel scheme and a nationwide 'no cost' testing operation both appear in the same October 2026 window.
